Arts & Humanities Internships

Pre-Law majors have the opportunity to work with local law firms to learn hands-on about law. You will see how a law office operates and have the chance to network with professionals. You will be responsible for being an active part of the process of research, writing and presentation. Politics majors have actively worked for political candidates and constitutional principles. Our school offers you the chance to put your academic interests into positive action for real change in the world.

English students have opportunities for credit-bearing internships that count toward the English degree, as well as for less formal internships. Both kinds of internships may be paid or unpaid, depending on the employer’s policies. Internships that English majors and minors have completed in the past include writing and copy editing for magazines, newspapers, and digital publications; editing and writing for non-profit organizations; political communications for state representatives and other elected officials; library science; and community-based writing programs for children.

You also may take advantage of other informal opportunities to intern as a part of your community service (Workship) activities. Students in our school have written and edited newsletters for non-profit organizations and have helped with marketing and public relations efforts for worthy causes.
